Yesterday, Truck Simulator studio SCS Software announced “Hauling Hope,” an in-game event for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator that challenges players to deliver COVID-19 vaccines to various locations around the world. It’s a pretty great idea, inspired by last year’s “Truck At Home” event, which SCS said drove ETS2 player counts to record levels and led to more than €15,000 ($18,200) in donations to various charities. Unfortunately, the blog post about the event drew some blowback from fans who complained about the studio injecting “politics” into the game, and so in a press release sent out after the blog post went live, SCS added a bizarre, poorly-conceived clarification.
Runescape is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game, and while it may not seem that important on the surface, it’s actually a huge deal. Documented by the Guinness World Records, Runescape is known as the world’s most popular free MMORPG, with over 200 million registered players. It also has the title of the most frequently-updated game too. Like many MMOs, the latest version of Runescape – namely Runescape 3 – takes place in a medieval setting, filled with queens, goblins and, perhaps most importantly, dragons (and we can’t forget to mention the chickens). It’s not exactly an example of fine art in terms of its visuals, but for a game that’s been around for over 15 years how could it be? As long as your browser is rocking some recent version of Java, you’ll be good to start fighting, trading and even playing mini-games with other players in the world of Gielinor. Be careful, though, as Runescape is kind of known for being addictive. And, hey, it’s on mobile devices too, now, so you can take it on the go.
Death Chase is an intense car racing game in which you must compete against other drivers in a race to the death. This race involves a huge amount of death and destruction and dangerous obstacles to bypass. Before you start racing, you can choose your vehicle and upgrade its various components such as its armor, weapons and engine. Each time you complete a race you earn additional coins that you can spend on improvements and upgrades. The races themselves are fast paced and immense fun – you encounter a range of different ramps, loops, slides, obstacles and bridges. When jumping off ramps you can perform flips for additional points. These points build up your nitro bar and when it is full you receive a short speed burst. Be careful when driving as you can only sustain a certain amount of damage before your vehicle is destroyed! Can you conquer the death chase and create a super vehicle of destruction?
